Dare to Disagree – TED Talk
Margaret Heffernan (born 1955) is an entrepreneur, CEO, writer and keynote speaker. She is currently a Professor of Practice at the University of Bath School of Management in the UK.
Heffernan is the former chief executive officer of five businesses and is the writer of five books that explores business and effective leadership. She teaches entrepreneurship, mentors executives as part of a leadership development company, and speaks to corporations, associations and universities about continuous innovation and the role leaders have helping newly hired employees.
In this talk she explains that most people instinctively avoid conflict. But she shows us that good disagreement is central to progress. She illustrates how the best partners aren’t echo chambers — and how great research teams, relationships and businesses allow people to deeply disagree.
