EQUAL Ireland is a ‘not-for-profit’ charitable trust formed in 2001 by a collaboration involving IBEC, SIPTU, FAS and Lionra, a higher education network. Its aim is to bring adult friendly 3rd level education to people who previously missed the opportunity to gain a degree or higher level of study.

This course is a part-time distance learning programme, designed to provide learners with the opportunity to achieve a 60 Credit Level 6 QQI award via flexible delivery methodologies and incorporating Work and Community based learning. The focus is on getting learners up to speed in Communication (oral and written) and IT Skills to give them the confidence to progress to the next level in Higher Education. Learners will also have the opportunity to explore their interest in business, enterprise and community development and to develop their skills towards becoming effective administrators in these areas.

  • It has been translated and delivered to learners in Ireland, Spain, Turkey, Poland, Greece and Italy. It is recognised by the International Labour Organisation of the United Nations as meeting the specified needs of Life Long Learning for the EU Workforce in the 21st Century.
